We are the Save Solent Middle School
Parent Action Group.

We do not agree with the closure of Solent Middle School.

• Solent is an outstanding school - with Key Stage results above the national average
• Solent have developed working relationships with the feeder primary schools which have worked effectively
• The best practice that Solent has developed should be shared amongst other less successful schools.
• Standards of attainment in the Cowes area, and some other parts of the Island are above the national average.
• Standards should be driven up within the current system.

 

We believe Solent Middle should remain a Middle School.

 

The Questionnaires may be in, but the fight is not over.

REMEMBER - sign our online petition to the Prime Minister asking for a review of the Isle of Wight Council's proposals for education reform, with a view to allowing standards to be raised WITHIN the existing system of education. we have got over 200 Signatures, which means we will get a response from Government, but lets get as many as we can to show the strength of feeling.
